I fell off my horse and had to get surgery. I have 3 more months till I can ride again. Ok long story short. My neck(scar) is burning like crazy. I'm afraid they may have to go back in and change something. Does anyone know why its burning?

  1. To be safe, call your doctor and get his advice.

  2. I had surgery 2 months ago, have a 7 inch incision and it burns too. It feels like the scar tissue is tightening up and the skin is trying to rip. I have been putting prefer on (made by the head on people) and its helping...it will take several months for it to heal completely. Also there is alot of blood traveling to the injured area to help bring oxygen so it will heal. That will also put off alot of heat.

  3. its probaly normal for it to burn.

  4. I had surgery 7 months ago on the inside of my arm. I had a rather large incision with 23 stitches. The scar is still pretty sensitive and it will burn sometimes, it itches sometimes and it aches sometimes. It is all normal according to the surgeon who did the surgery. I put on a gel that is made to help break up the scar tissue and make it less noticeable three times a day. Since I have been using that it has been less bothersome to me.
