if you get caught with it the first time theyll take it up for 10 days or you can pay $25 to get it back, and the third time you have to pay $75, or they keep it for 25 days! that's so stupid! i shouldn't have to pay to get something back that's mine! do you think they have a right to do that? o yea i seriously doubt it will keep people from texting.

  1. Yes I beleive its a good rule, your there to learn not text, and trust me, it will keep lots of people from texting.

  2. yea why not text if your your POSITIVE you won't get caught? like the teaher walks out of the classroom. that wouldn't stop me.

  3. you should protest! its freaking insane that they take your phone. Someone could die!!!! What if your mom's car crashed in the woods + she tried to get a hold of you + you didn't answer cuz you didn't have ur phone????? + then her phone ran out of battery before she could dial 911??? she could die and it would be all your schools fault!!!!

Okay so maybe thats an exaggeration, but a phone is very important for contacting your parents as to where you will be at a given time. Your school should just take away your phone from you for the day,  then on the second time, call your parents and take your phone away for the day, tehn on the thrid time, DESTROY YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!! jk but the rules in ur school are wayy to severe.

  4. Yeah, I think it is extremely idiotic that take the phones. It is your property most of the time. No, they do not have a right to take it. In college if this happens they ask you to leave the class.  They should ask you to leave for the remainder of the period.

I remember I was in a college class, and some girl was texting away on her phone. The proffessor said, "If you wish to text with your boyfriend you would get much better service outside Miss." She was so embarressed she walked out.

  5. dont complain their doing it for a reason

ex: "i seriously doubt it will keep people from texting" yeah thats why their doing it. because people keep texting.

  6. Come on. Follow the school's d**n rules and don't text during school. You have plenty of time to chat with your friends before and after school.

  7. Unfortunately you lose a lot of your rights in school for safety reasons ... But I agree with you this is pathetic that your school is making you pay for your cellphones back some of the cellphones they will be  confiscating don't even cost $75 but the only bad thing is one MAJOR way to get things change is alert your community but I don't think they will help you much seeing as they are paying for you to go to school not play with your phone

Best Advice....Try a petition ( to get rid of the $25 and $75 that is)

  8. And your teachers shouldn't have to deal with kids using their phones in school.  You have to follow the rules or face the consequences, end of story.

  9. when i was in school a few years ago they thought they could confiscate my phone for weeks on end - my mum soon sorted that out being that it was her fault for ringing me in the lesson by accident.

if they confiscate your phone just get your parents to come in or ring in.

  10. Is this legal? I'm not sure they can fine you for this? Make sure you turn your phone off and refrain from texting during school hours. Wouldn't you rather wait a coulple hours and not have to pay $75 dollars. What state is this happening in? My school just takes the phone and then your guardians must pick it up.

  11. the amount seems a little extreme, but it is still a good rule. At my daughter's school, they only have a two dollar holding fee and a parent/guardian has five days to pick it up and pay the fee.

But when you're in school, you have rules to follow. Texting is a distraction and even if you don't do it while taking a test, there's always going to be someone who does. School is supposed to set you up for the outside world and in corporate America, you can't text your way through successfully.

  12. i think it is g*y that they make you pay for it

at my school they take it and your parents have to come get it..

and like we all text all the time and even call when we go in the bathroom or something..

i dont think you should have to pay for your own phone..

  13. It's crazy that they take it for that long, but you shouldn't be talking or texting during class, anyway.  It's really distracting and rude to the teachers.

If it's between classes or you're in the hall or something and they STILL confiscate it, then yeah I think that's wrong and the rule should be changed.

  14. Yes, they can do that!

  15. there is no reason to bring your phone to school and you cant follow rules your parents should take it away...

  16. Because high school is lame. They just do it so that you'll pay attention and not be a distraction. I just graduated but I've been texting in class for 3 years, never getting caught =]. In college I don't think I will because those lessons will actually have a point and if I don't pay attention I'll be s******g myself over.

  17. It's fair. You shouldnt be using your phone at school. It'll keep them from texting when their phone is taken up. Stop being immature
