i've been compiling a list of stuff to just bypass everything the school does so i can discuss it with the tech department when i return.. is there anyone that can get me set on the right path maybe.. i know they have a preset background that is a file located in the server. i could make myself an admin and change that.. but i would rather not..

  1. Lookin' for trouble, aren't you?  Mess with your OWN computer.

  2. The background is probably set using a group policy.  If you have Domain administrator rights you can change the group policy but that will probably make other stuff not work.  Why bother with the background?  Set the background on your own computer to whatever you like and don't mess with somebody else's policy's.

  3. You are setting yourself up to be expelled.  They lock down the machines, track your internet usage, etc for a reason.  They need to keep the machines in a standard setup so they can fix problems and keep the machines working for each student.  You changing it, or attempting to change it will introduce viruses, modifications to the setup, etc.  This violates the school policy and you are just asking for serious trouble...

  4. I did it by changing every student to admin when a teacher with admin privileges left their computer logged in and went to lunch. they had a h**l of a time. obviously my school didn't have the best system but you could prolly try the same thing I don't know why you wanna do the desktop. if your gonna risk suspension and losing computer privileges go bigger and make it worth you while

  5. Go read your school policy for tampering with their computers.

"Helping them" won't be an excuse when they suspend you and charge you for the cost of fixing what you have done.

Maybe you should ask them if they want your help ahead of time.

Good  luck.  Should I watch for you on the news?

  6. There's no way you're gonna bypass their security measures or 'make yourself an admin' without their detection.

    Stop dreaming.
