I'm about 6'2 and have black hair, and fairly lean. I sing lots of songs from the 50's and 60's such as Sinatra and Dean Martin, and I'm a huge fan of Grease. I thought I could possibly play Danny or even Frankie Avalon in the Beauty School Dropout. I know that song by heart. Could you help me out? Thanks! This would be my first performance.

  1. I did Grease! It was a really fun play =]

In the play Kennickie gets to sing Grease Lighting and he's one of the finalists in the dance comp

Roger also gets a really funny song about Mooning (idk if you fit the look tho)

Doody is kinda the goof of the group (but again you may not fit the look)

but u kno u don't really get that much say in what part u get ....usally...normaly

oh well break a leg!! =]

  2. Okay, first of all, can I say that it's so cool that you love Grease??? I would so date you if I knew you (that sounds creepy, sorry) :D

Frankie would be a good character for you, but some parts of getting the role do depend on your vocal range. You might what to try Kenickie. He gets to be in the Grease Lightning song :)

  3. ALL the male characters in that show are:

Danny Zuko, Sandy Olsson, Betty Rizzo, Kenickie, Doody, Sonny, Putzie, Frenchy, Jan, Marty Maraschino, Principal MacGee, The Teen Angel, Vi, Vince Fontaine, and Coach Calhoun

You can find out more info about the musical here:

I would also suggest watching the movie

The decision is yours, but I have given you a little info to help you decide.

  4. Well, it certainly sounds like you'd fit in but to know what role you should be, we need to know your vocal range?  Most of the guys are tenors but Kenicke is a baritone and Danny is between tenor and baritone.  I say audition for whatever role you identify most with or feel the strongest pull towards.

Don't overlook some of the supporting roles.  In my opinion Roger steals the show with "Mooning"

Look here for info on the roles: http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/sh...

    good luck,
