Question:

My serger isn't working properly. I bent my sewing needle and now the thread won't form a chain. What to do?

I tried to re thread it 5 times already. Also the lower looper thread keeps breaking.

  1. Change the needle!  You can make things worse by trying to serge with a bent needle.

    Next, remove all the thread.  Get your manual.  Now, step by step, follow each threading step in the manual.  Don't do it the way you think it needs to be done -- pretend you've never threaded the machine before and have to read each step from the manual.  Thread each thread IN THE ORDER required by the manual.

    My guess is that one of your lower looper threads is threaded out of order.


  2. buy new needles, find your manual & re-thread it proper & adjust your tensions proper
