  1. I bathe my kitten. She never used to like it. She would meow soooooo much. Now, I go in with her and she never meows. She is dandruff free and smells great after. It's a very easy solution.

  2. One of our cats had a "dandruff" problem too. We didn't think there was any cure until we started brushing her every day for a few weeks with a "wire" brush. That's a brush with wire bristles not nylon and it pulls out all the old dead fur really well.

Of course you have to be gentle but our cat loves her brushings and "asks" for them every day! She really does! And her dandruff is gone.

We never give our cats a bath. They sometimes get worse skin from a bath than if you simply brush them real well over a period of time.

Just let your cat rub against the brush as you gently pull it across her side and soon you will be in "self-brush" mode with a very happy kitty! Good luck :-))

  3. Give your cat some butter to eat./ or bacon fat.

Your cat needs more fat than we do

The dry skin might be from that or an allergy.

  4. We adopted a dog that had lots of dandruff and it had alot to do with diet. One thing that is said to work is adding flax seed to your pets food.  But its better to use flax meal (ground up flax seed) Flax is extremely healthy for both pets and people. For a cat I wouldn't add more than half a tea spoon of flax to her food, and just once a day should be enough.  Our dog after a month no longer has dandruff and her coat is no longer oily, its has a very healthy shine to it.  Also avoid cheap pet food. Its actually better and cheaper to make your own pet food. Mix some rice with tuna and your cat will love it and its healthier than any pet food you can buy.

  5. vet

  6. brush the cat and clean its coat... they make spray in cleaner.

You can also bath the cat in your bath tub... hope the cat doesn't have claws.

  7. Try feeding AvoDerm.  I am not kidding.  My cat's skin and fur have never been better.  Other than that, keep him brushed three or four times a week (gently) to stimulate his oil glands.

  8. You can get fish oil to add to his/her food. That's what I do with my cats and it helps their skin not flake as much. It will help hydrate his/her skin. You can go to your local pet store to ask about it, or ask your vet about it. Also, make sure your cat is staying hydrated (feeding wet food will help hydrate instead of just feeding dry). And it could simply be your environment, just like how we dry out sometimes. My cats tend to be more flaky in winter when there's less humidity in the air. So if you have really dry air, maybe you can invest in a humidifier.

  9. there are shampoos for cat dander. but it probably it's diet. try looking at homeopathic remedies and a new diet
