  1. There are several reasons your bird could be losing balance.

    Nails too long

Perches all the same size. Your bird needs perches of different sizes and textures to exercise his feet

    Sores or injury to feet.

My MAIN concern is the imbalance could be a sign of illness.

If it was my bird it would have been at my certified avian vet when it started losing balance as a common occurrance.

Please take the bird to an avian vet ASAP----Yogi

  2. I'm sorry but that really sounds like a neurological sign.  He really (really) needs to see an avian veterinarian ASAP.  Neuro signs could be caused by a number of things, including trauma and disease.  Please take Boogie in very, very soon.

    Good luck,

  3. Get him to a board-certified avian vet ASAP. Do some research on the vet before choosing them and ensure that they are well-trained and board-certified, if possible.

  4. i have a keet that does the same thing. he was given to me although i knew that when i got him. the previous owner spent a boatload on vet bills to find out what his problem was. he has a nuerological disorder. he's gotten better with time though. he keot falling off his perches all the time too for no apparent reason. one minute he was fine...the next minute he's on the bottom flapping around. but i keep terry cloth towels on top of the grate of his cage and unthe newspaper in case he falls so that he wont hurt himself by hitting the grate. he also has seizures every once in  a while. usually when i bring my mini vaccum near his cage when im cleaning, he will have a seizure.

  5. This bird needs to be seen ASAP by a good Avian Vet.

Falling off your shoulder and your finger tell's his balance problem is caused from illness.

There are several illness's that cause this, so don't wait.

  6. Have you recently had his wings clipped? If so, it be that they are clipped too short. If not, then I would recommend taking him to an Avian Vet.
