My sew machine is popping my thread what is the problem?

  1. Are you talking about the thread on top of the machine? Does popping mean breaking?

    You could be holding the foot pedal down to hard and it is popping off or you may be breaking the thread which could mean you are using 100% cotton thread or finally, you may have to re-thread your machine again.


  2. I am not too sure on what you mean by popping. It could be that the tension was changed sometimes pulling a machine in and out of areas you may have accidentally bumped it changing the tension.  It could also be that the thread you are using is not the same as the type of thread you are using on the bobbin.  It could also be that the thread you are using is not the correct type for the material you are sewing.  Check all your settings and don't forget to push the thing next to where the thread spool sits so it locks the spool into place.
