My sewing machine is sewing in reverse Kenmore...

i recently purchased a sewing machine from someone who stated that the machine had never been used by his mother-in-law it looks in brand new condition it is a computerized 100 stitch machine however when I try to sew after setting it up and reading the manual it sews only in reverse........
