Question:

My sewing machine tension is all off. Cant find balance. Bobbin is a mess, eats thread. HELP!!?

the fabric (whatever fabric) i use gets matted behind with thread as well. HELP

    My first guess is that you're threading with the presser foot down, which does not let the thread enter the upper tension.  Or that your machine is in dire need of cleaning and oiling.

  3. Mine does this on occasion. Make sure that the bobbin is in correctly, machine is threaded properly and you are using the correct needle for the fabric you are using and that the needle is in the proper direction. Also, clean out any fuzz that is by the foot and bobbin areas. Do you oil your machine?

    Also, make sure that the foot is doing the work for you--as far as guiding the material thru. You don't want to be tugging on it or it will mess the bobbin and tension up. Take a scrap piece of fabric and check the tension settings. If it continually bunches and messes up, take it to a professional that can readjust the tension.
