  1. you can try to mix it with a little bit of soft food.  i have also found out that it can help if you try to hand feed you dog.  also try chopping up some garlic, warming the chopped garlic up and mixing it with his food.  the stinkier the food the more likely they are to eat it. but if hes eating it with a little bit of water mixed in with it, thats fine.  keep with it

  2. How old is he?

I had to do this for my dog for a while (It hurt his teeth). I slowly began to decrease the amount of water every 3-4 days. All-in-all, though, it doesn't hurt him to eat slightly wet kibble as long as it's not sopping wet.

DO NOT put garlic in the food. Garlic is a known toxin to dogs! The kibble that you have will produce a small "gravy" when a little bit of warm water is poured over it.

  3. Letting the food soak in warm water is no big deal. You can do that forever and it wouldnt cause a problem. Adding a little low fat cottage cheese or steamed rice also encourages them to eat.

  4. as long as he is eating it then why stop

  5. I don't see a reason to stop, it's only water after all. Specially if he won't eat without it.

  6. My brother's shibas are sometimes very choosy about food and, they add a little chicken broth, meat, or rice with egg to make the food more appetizing.  They'll eat the food eventually when they get hungry enough, barring any other problem (toothache, cuts, etc...) I agree with Jen, don't give your dog garlic!!!! This is a link to foods that are toxic for your dog and any dog.  http://www.thedogbowl.com/PPF/category_I...
