My shih tzu has a weird habit?

Question

of l*****g the inside of ears, the dog's ears, the cat's ears, my ears. every time he has the opportunity he goes ahead and licks them.

i was curious why he does that what is urging him to do that? its funny but our collie hates when he does that and snaps at him and im worried he will get hurt

One of my dogs did that.  I just thought the other dogs had dirty ears, and he was incharge of cleaning them.
