My shih tzu has fleas should i shave her bald?

Shave her, it's the only thing that really helps.

Best thing to use is Frontline or Advantage.  I used Frontlne because Advantage was to harsh.  A little pricey, but worth every penny.  Used it for about 2-3 years, only in the summer.  Haven't had to use it for years, no more fleas.

That won't help. Short hair dogs get fleas too.

Take her to a groomer, get a good cleaning. Then get a flea medication such as Advantix from your vet. If it's a bad infestation, flea soap won't do the trick.

You'll probably have to treat your home and yard as well. Ask the vet for recommendations.

Don't shave the dog! They have a coat for a reason!

sorry but that will not work. the best advice for you is to get rid of the fleas around your house by applying some sort of pesticides. if you were to shave your dog you would have to continue to do so and the fleas will multiply. my dalmation had fleas and i bought so many products such as spray, flea colar, shampoo,frontline, and called in a pesticide sprayer worker (what ever you call them) and they all worked out fine. within a two or three days my dog was no longer itching himself, he and i felt soooo much better.

Yes you should definitely do that, I did it with my 2 years old terrier and it worked just fine

I know shaving her bald would get rid of the fleas as I had a shih tzu and that is what I had to do to get rid of the fleas. Also my dog was more comfortable and happy.

get Advantage off the internet or at a vet and if that still doesn't work, i would take her to the vet before it gets worse because im sure it's probably very irritating for her skin.
