Question:

My shoulder constantly hurts?

Ever since I started my new job I have had constant pain in my right shoulder. I use it all the time bagging popcorn, handling money and carrying heavy equipment. Usually Advil or Tylenol isn't enough. Is it strained or is it just that I don't use a muscle? Should I be worried?

  1. you probably have a pinched nerve. I had one in my left shoulder I overused my arm at work cleaning, the pain got so worse one day I had to go to the doctor and he gave me some pain pills and muscle relaxers and rest, so I used my other arm and babied the other. Now I feel better. Don't use heat, heat wont really help, use ice and go to the doctor, bc it will only get worse, believe me.

  2. You're just using a muscle you haven't used in such a manner before. Do you use the right shoulder more than the left, if not does your left shoulder hurt some also? You could also have the beginning of Bursitis in that shoulder. If it worsens, should get stronger the longer you do this work, you may have to have a shot of Cortisone put in it. I would start using some moist heat every night. Take a towel, soak it with hot water, ring it out and apply it to the entire shoulder. Do this several times at least once a day, two if possible. When the skin begins to turn slightly red, stop, then massage that shoulder and use some Aspercreme Cream on it. You need to exercise and strengthen that shoulder or both shoulders. Take warm baths rather than a shower. You could also use some ice instead of the heat to see which feels better, it or the moist heat. Take Extra Strength Tylenol for the pain. Best of luck to you young lady.

  3. See your doctor...could be Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Rotator Cuff Lesion, Frozen Shoulder, Fracture, Dislocation Cervical Rib Syndrome, Shoulder Hand Syndrome...try a heat pack too.
