  1. eww i noticed our sink was doing something like that and my boyfriends sink when u ran the water for a while i wasnt sure what it was either just wanted to let u ko ur not the only one having a problem like this the first answer sounds good tho but i dontknow what a P trap is....

  2. Mix up 1 cup of bleach with 3 cups of water and pour down the drain. Let it sit over night and all the bacteria and germs which may be causing the problem will be dead and the smell will be gone too.

  3. It sounds like one of your P traps is being sucked dry, perhaps the one under the shower.  That or the vent that goes through your roof is blocked by leaves or a small dead thing.  Check the vent first, and then after your shower run some more water gently and see if the smell goes away.  If it does go away then it's the P trap that is somehow not retaining water.  It would be worth having a plumber check that out.  What you are smelling are sewer gases.

  4. Hydrogen sulfide (usually found in well water) is usually the reason for the rotten egg odor you speak of. An Iron Filtration system should clear that up.

    Good luck with that problem!

  5. I'm betting you have a well and not city water, right?

I'll bet you don't smell it when you only run cold water, right?

I have the same problem every year. I think the best way to get rid of the aroma is to shock your well. You can buy well shock from a local well company or you can use bleach. My suggestion is call a local well company and have them do it. Good luck.

  6. I would pour 1 cup of bleach down the drain and let it sit, couple hours before using drain.  The odor should leave.

    Good Luck
