I'm pretty sure my siamese fighter is dying, he is practically non responsive and has bad puffy like gills??

Its midnight here so i cant go and get some medicine till at least 5pm tomorrow.

Does anybody know what is wrong with him and if it is easily curable? or is it his time, and what is the most humane way of killing him, I dont think I could physically kill him but if its the only way then I guess I will have to.

All advice appreciated thanks

  1. if he is swimming on his side, thats not a good sign, may mean he will die, he probably has fungus I dont think theres much you can do unless you have any medicine, You can do a full water change, and rise the water however, this may help him. But be VERY gentle when taking him out. There are plenty of medicines you can get to treat fungus, make sure you treat the tap water before puting him in, and never overdose! I would suggest Maracyn for Fungus, Theres alot more though and you can ask around. But remember to research, you dont want to medicate unless you know what he has! Hope this help! And Good Luck, I hope he makes it!

  2. If he is swimming on his side, he may have swimbladder disorder so feed him frozen peas to reduce swelling. Also, he may not yet have disease so put aquarium salt (not regular salt!!) in his water as well as the products NovAqua and StressZyme once you are able to get to the store to buy them, these will prevent infection and make him less stressed. If he has little white cotton ball-like things on his body (esp. the gills and tail) that are just a little bigger than the period at the end of this sentence, then he has ich, which is a common fish disease. Treat it with QuickCure of Aquarisol.
