My sim cannot call another sim.?

i have sims 2 pets and since i installed it my sims cannot invite or call another sim. they can call services and delivery's but they cannot call another sim, this is very annoying as now i cannot invite over a sim to make them fall in love. its very hard to make friends only relying on the sims that walk by. i really need help. please let me know if any body has experianced this before?! x

The first order of business when you experience something like this is to automatically remove your downloads folder in case you've got some conflicting content. (This happens a lot when you've got hacks you've used for awhile, then they break when a new expac comes out.)

Secondly, patch your game. The official Sims 2 website has patches for every version of the game, so download them and see if that fixes your problem.

If neither of these work, try a clean reinstall.
