My sims 2 is stupid!?!?!?

my sims 2 for my laptop is really weird it goes slow and the water on swimming pools and ponds and fountains are red and the floor looks like its crashed and its grey what can i do to stop it doin tht plz help cos i love the sims and its relly bugging me

Try updating your direct X 9, if that doesn't work change your screen colour settings or resolution

umm my friend had that problem try changing ur bit colour thingy format to a higher one that might help
