My sims game won't download?

Ok so i got a new sim game yesterday and when i pop it into my computer it doesn't load and nothing pops up on my screen.I do the alternative and go to the start button but that also doesn't work..I need help bc i really wanna play this game

that's weird i never have that kind of problem.did your dvd drive make any sounds when you put in the sims 2 disk?i don't know what happen but maybe you would like to change your sims disk to a new one.or did your computer have all the game requirement thing?
