  1. Tell her to do it.

It's not like high school; you actually learn interesting stuff. You  have a much broader selection of courses.

And you're hanging out with people who are interested in interesting things.

It gives you a chance to see what area you fall in love with; and thus can devote your working life to.

    There are no cons.

  2. Well, I went to the University of Sydney.

    Pros-

    Excellent professors

    Interesting methods of learning

    Original and challenging material

Lots of research and study resources

Great way to meet new people

    Good parties ..hehe..

You end up with a degree

    Cons-

    Demanding of your time

Expensive (my parents paid, but I had friends that paid for their own Uni fees)

Youve gotta have a really stable, well-paying Part time job if youre living out of home

In some professions, youre still competing with people that just have more experience and not a degree

  3. im at uni at the moment and for me its been a really good experience. You get to meet so many new ppl, and you learn so much. Its really gd when u have a passion for wat u r goin to study, and u meet others with  that same passion. Also uni will get u really gd qualifications

the only con would be that uni is time consuming. Apart from attending lectures and classes, you also need time to do assignmnets and homework. This means u have less time to work, maybe less free time. But still you always have ways around it. She'll still have a social life and free time for herslef. Its not too bad.

    Hope this helped :)

  4. It really depends on what your goal in life is.  Is she planning on going into a profession where a degree would be helpful or required or is she more interested in a skills-based trade where some sort of job training is needed?

The benefit of a college education is that it gives you a broader understanding of topics and helps teach you to objectively evaluate issues while being more open-minded to other viewpoints.  Those who don't feel college is worth the effort typically are the ones who either have no real interest in learning or expected to walk out the door to a six-figure job.  I think college is great, but not necessarily for everyone.  It is a lot of work, money, and time.  It can easily be wasted time if you don't go into it with the right mindset or if you plan to do a job where it really isn't needed.

  5. I haven't got to that decision yet, but I know the answer. If she's trying to get a good job, then university would be a good place to go. Tell her not to decide over-night, think about it. Ask her what she would think would be the best thing to do. I know she doesn't know what to do, but if she thinks hard enough, I'm sure she will.

    Hope this helps.

  6. although it can be stressful and stuff.. its worth it, these days education is everything

  7. Pros--You learn more. Much better chances that you will get a job that pays well. (hate to say it, but without a college degree, you're pretty much going to be stuck in lower level jobs). Makegreat and interesting friends. Make great connections with your professors or peers who might later on be great mentors or assets in getting better jobs. and ofcourse broaden your horizons.

Cons--It's expensive and you have to study hard(duh!)

  8. no
