She'll let my sister pet her, but the cat really doesnt' want her to. Her pupils are dilated. She can hardly walk. She's not foaming at the mouth. She has a bad smell. She ate and drank this morning. She also peed and pooped. It was sometime after she pooped that she started acting like that. Then while I was on the phone with my sister, the cat starting jerking more. She told me she would call me back. About 5 minutes later, she called back and said that she's better, that the cat threw up and is only twitching now, not jerking. She said the vomit looked like spit. And she's laying kinda curled up (you know how cats curl). Her eyes are still dilated, but she's not l*****g her mouth anymore. And the cat will let my sister touch her more now. I thought that she may have eaten some sort of poison or something, but my sister said that she doesn't have anything laying around. She's an indoors cat so she didn't get anything outside. Does anyone know what this could possibly be? If you have a home remedy for it, I'd appreciate that too.

  1. the only remedy is a vet! especially since no one on this site is equipped to diagnose the cat. you can't treat when you don't know what it is. something could be seriously wrong. please take the cat to the vet immediately.

  2. take her to the vet!!

it sounds like rabies or possibly shes having seizures. either way, it is NOT normal and the poor cat needs help ASAP. i wish u the best.

  3. Some houseplants are poisonous to cats. Get the cat to a vet!

  4. lol i thought u said car oh and just go to the freaking vet instead of asking us.

  5. The spit looking vomit is the liquid bile from the stomach sometimes it's a little frothy, this could be as simple your sister changed the cat's food recently (since you mentioned the eating, cats don't do well with sudden dietary changes)

if she hasn't changed the food recently this this could be major like the cat having swallowed a sting or something else that could be blocking it's intestines making it hard or painful for things to pass. eventually things could stop moving altogether.

if it's not a new food then your sis should take kitty straight to the vet.

  6. I believe Andie meant that the cat may have swallowed "string".  Strings can get struck in a cat's digestive system and eventually kill them.

Please tell your sister to take the animal to a vet right away!  There is no way to know what could be wrong without an expert to diagnose the problem.

You say that "she has no money."  A responsible pet owner should only keep animals that they can afford to care for.  She should get the cat some help first, then she should explain to the vet that she'll need help with the bill.  They may be able to offer her a payment plan.

She should also decide if she can really afford to keep this animal.

  7. I don't know if there is a home remedy for it.  You should definitely take your cat to the vet.  It may have a serious problem.

  8. This is a perfectly normal behaviour for certain cats in heat. When the cycle finishes they should stop.

or your cat has gastro introitus .
