  1. Well I think that maggie has all the answers on this one but if she takes lots of bubble baths that might be the problem and if she does not wipe herself the correct way,or good enough that could be it that doctor has lost their mind

  2. No point in anyone else answering this one! Maggie nailed it perfectly!

  3. It MIGHT just be a bad or nervous habit, but I tend to agree with the yeast infection or allergy to detergent or underwear material.  Don't guess...see another doctor if the solutions suggested below don't solve the problem. Don't let the child suffer!  If you have ever had a yeast infection, or bladder or urethra infection, you know how horribly irritating it can be!

  4. Give her lots of water, and cranberry juice. Reduce or eliminate all soda's, and sugary drinks that you can. Make sure her panties are cotton and changed often, due to the fact that kids leak sometimes. I would not hurt to change the soap she bathes with to soap that has no dyes in it and that is sensitive to the skin, such as Dove. Moreover, a five year olds hands are not usually clean so if she is touching herself and scratching she may be infecting herself, tell her that is nasty to scratch herself and that ladies do not do that. If she does it too much give her a baking soda bath, just let her play in the warm water with about a cup of baking soda mixed in, it will help any itchy feelings she may be having. The last thing I can say is, she may be sweating down there, its hot outside, shes  not to old to use powder on to keep her nice and dry.

    Hope this helps.

  5. An infection maybe. Advice the mom to apply an anti-itch cream to her genitalia, like benadryl.

  6. Thanks for the points Maggie!!!  She hit the nail on the head.  What I would think about without pushing buttons is molestation?  I knew a girl who got molested in daycare.  This could be an issue.

  7. check inside the lips of her v to make sure she does not have  a yeast infection (if there are little white spots and a bit stinky) This can happen after antibiotics .or perhaps an allergy to cat hider----I would get another doctor who cares.

  8. She could have a yeast infectiion or just very sensitive skin.  Ask your doctor for a cream or ointment that can alleviate the itching.  Also what kind of laundry detergent do you use?  That can cause skin irritation as well.
