My sister always yells at her kids in public?

I find it really embarassing because she yells in a really angry voice. One of her kids is really bad, though. He is very violent and he never does what he is told. Last weekend he throw a bowling ball at a stranger in a bowling alley and he purposefully tried to knock over an old lady at a mall. My sister yelled like a demon. What should I say or do?

  1. Sounds like a vicious cycle; she gets mad at him and yells, he hates getting yelled at so he acts out.  Seems like this family needs an intervention!  I think this child needs some medical help, I know about naughty boys - but this goes way beyond!  Maybe her son has a chemical imbalance, ADHD, or something else...

As for your sister, don't judge her (you haven't been in her position), offer her your love and support.  Encourage her to get help for her son, and seek counselling for herself.

  2. Well first of all your sister needs help if the kids wont listen to her.  She needs to find a new way to get thru to the kids.  Second of all if the child is hurting someone like that he needs his butt beat.

  3. Tell your sister the best way to control her kids is to praise them when they are being good and don't give them attention for bad behaviour - just make it claear that they are wrong and disipline them ( not hit them ).

They also need to be given strict rules an dboundaries that they know they have to follow.

  4. Some kids are just bad.  My sister-in-law is the same way.  She cusses at them and hits them in public........  very embarassing.  I have a 6 month old baby and no older kids so I don't even know what it's like to have crazy kids....  yet.  Hopefully mine won't be crazy and she will listen.  I think your sister is very frustrated with her son and needs to spend a little one on one time with him working on the way he acts.  My sister-in-law did that and luckily he has gotten better.  You really can't do much but be there for her so she doesn't completely lose it.

  5. tell her how you feel.
