  1. This was listed as Dutch, in the Betty Crocker's International Cookbook:

    GOUDA CHEESE & EGG CASSEROLE

    4 eggs, slighty beaten

    1-1/4 c. half & half

    1-1/4 c. soft bread crumbs

    1 c (4 oz) shredded Gouda cheese

    3/4 tsp. salt

    1/4 tsp. pepper

    paprika

Mix all ingredients, except paprika;  pour into greased 1-qt. casserole.  Sprinkle with paprika.  Cook uncovered un 325 oven until center is set (45-50 min) ... serves 4

  2. Cucumber salad -This is pretty easy to make and traditional dutch

    2 cucumbers

    5 tablespoons oil

    4 tablespoons herb vinegar

    1 teaspoon mustard

    fresh pepper

    (1/2 teaspoon sugar)

    1 little onion

    2 tablespoons chives

    2 tablespoons dill

    Preparation:

Wash the cucumbers and cut off the ends.

Cut the cucumbers in very thin slices or grate on a large hole grater (peeling optional) .

Beat (with a mixer) a sauce of the remaining ingredients.

Pour the sauce over the cucumbers and mix well.

Let the cucumber salad rest for at least 10 minutes and stir before serving.

Here is another one Ham Potato Casserole:

This one is easy and it doesn't take long to prepare

    Ingredients:

    ½  cup chopped onion

    1  Tbsp oil

    1  cup milk

    4-5  potatoes, peeled and sliced

    2  cups cubed ham

1  lb fresh string beans (or 1 package frozen)

4  oz shredded Cheddar cheese, optional

    Preparation:

Place sliced potatoes in a 13x9 baking dish, add beans and ham. In a saute pan, cook the onion in the oil until it's tender, place in baking dish. Pour milk over all. Cover and place in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes. Check beans and potatoes for doneness. If not done, bake about 15 minutes more. Uncover and add cheese if you want and bake about 5 minutes more, until the cheese melts.

  3. Cookies are dutch...

  4. Chocoladevla ( chocolate custard) simple recipe find it in any cookbook. Cornstarch is the thickener & don't forget the  sweetened whipped cream on the top. Another is Bruine bonen met spek (Brown beans " kidney beans" & bacon). It's beans ,bacon, salt & onions cooked together served with boiled potatoes and thick apple sauce.  Just look for a standard bean recipe in a cookbook & cook it.  Lots of the other stuff you might not like. Yes, I'm looking at a Netherlands Cookbook that I bought in Amsterdam in 1990.
