  1. Paris literaly never sleeps... when I was there We were out til say 5:00 in the morning. almost everything stays open. but

if you are wanting to see that play i would recomend seeing it the middle day you are there due to the fact that you never know if your plane is going to be late (ours was... 3 hours... ) soo... Middle Dayyy!

  2. Montmatre is wonderful. Walk up Rue Lepic, stop and have a drink in Les Deux Moulins as featured in Amile. Place de Tetre where all the artists hang out. Get a portrait done. The Sacre Couer is wonderful to look at and visit.. Have a leisurely meal in a restaurant.

Another evening explore the Left Bank.

Just walk and see what you discover.

Late night shopping on Thusday in Galleries Lafayette. What a wonderful store, check out the beautiful glass dome and the views of Paris from the roof. (Better make this bit part of your day trip).

Theatre wise, Edith Piaf the musical has just opened at the Olympia.

    Enjoy.

  3. You're not going to be able to see Les Mis in Paris.  For that you'll have to go to London or New York.

In the evenings, some of the nicest things to do are just walking around some of the different lively areas of Paris (Montmarte, Champs-Elysees, St. Germain de Pres, Marais, etc).  Stop in a cafe, have a quick drink, and then find a little restaurant for dinner.

If you are really energetic you can check out the club scene.  Most of the hardcore dance venues start up around 11 to midnight and go until 5-6 in the morning, just in time for the subway to start running.  Some of them will even start up again early in the morning and continue until noon on Sunday.

  4. The best place to walk aroud is the latin Quarter. I love this area. Les Miserables is on i nLondon and NY. Sorry. You must check out the Opera Garnier. It is beautiful. The best park in my opinion is Jardin du Luxembourg. If u take Metro line 1 to the station Defense, you will get to a new arch called La Defense. It has a cafe, museum, observatory, and an art exhibition. The Champse Elysee is a must. The Musee d'Orsay is a great museum*I like it better than the Louvre* It also has a cafe. Check out the Sacre Couer. But do not go at night. THis area is full of crime. Try 1 night to go to Tracadero and see the Eifel Tower Illuminated. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I enjoyed mine to Paris.

Extra Tip: You can purchase a 3 day metro pass, which is very useful. Also, try to get ahold of the tour book Top 10 Paris. It is full of attractions off the beaten path and great maps.

  5. Paris nightlife is fantastic and comes in many forms.

My own favorite hangout is Aux Trois Mailletz at 56 rue Galande in the 5th arrondissement. A very pleasant bar/restaurant with a piano player and singer on the ground floor and a nightclub scene in the basement.

There are a huge number of excellant Jazz venues from small intimate places like Le Petit Journal ( http://perso.orange.fr/claude.philips/ ) to the legendary Slow Club at 130, Rue Rivoli in the 1st arr. and the 7 Lezards (http://www.7lezards.com/welcome.htm )

You can go dancing to almost any kind of music you can imagine and with almost any type of crowd. Here's one such place that appeals to younger people (mind you I'm 60 and everyone seems young to me) http://www.paris-zoom.com/video/257/Geor...

And you can just hang out at a friendly cafe and watch the world go by with the beverage of your choice: http://www.paris-zoom.com/video/259/Le-C...

  6. go up to the sacre coeure (not spelled rite). beautiful at nite with all the lights of the city around.
