  1. Where do you live? In some countries blood relations have rights.

  2. not anymore its her decision to give up the child and once she gives that child up its really nothing you can do but convince the adoptive parents that you want the child but My prayers are with you deeply and i wish you the best of luck if all else fails just keep in touch with the family and your niece or nephew to show that you do in fact love the child and care

  3. How sad! I'm so sorry. Only your sister can help stop the adoption if it has been only a couple of days. Why would she give to strangers over her own sister? That is sooo sad!

  4. You will need the cooperation for your sister.  If she agrees to help you AND the laws in your state are favorable toward "birth" mothers, she still may be able to revoke her consent to the adoption.  You will need to act FAST tho'.  The longer you wait, the harder it is to stop the adoption.

  5. i'm really sorry but you don't have any rights to the baby on the other hand you have the right to get a staying order. Basically that means that the baby couldn't be adopted until after the case was heard. During which time you can apply for custody on a separate basis. You'd have to have a social worker check you out and a home study but it's possible u could be awarded custody on your own merit

  6. Probably not. You CAN support your sister with all the love she will need, because it is difficult giving up your baby. If it is an open adoption arrangement. you can probably have contact with your niece or nephew.

  7. it is possible that you can get her back some babies are there for months

yes technically you are her aunt

  8. please provide more details. Do you have a good relationship with your sister? Did you ask her before the adoption? Does your sister approve of you taking her child? Sorry to be so personal but I believe I need more info before giving any advice.

  9. unfortunately you have no rights as an aunt - its her decision and her child.
