I have two sisters, Kirsten and Whitney, both older than me. We are all in modelling. I do it locally, and Kirsten and Whitney are in New York. Whitney had always been skinny, she had been born with the true model's body, tall and rail-thin. Kirsten moved there first, and Whitney followed. Then Kirsten started calling, saying Whitney was acting strange. That she'd lost weight, hardly seemed to be eating at all, and was really snippy every time Kirsten tried to broach either topic. Then they flew down together for a holiday, and Whitney was extremely thin, with a head which seemed too big for her body. Kirsten said that she hardly ever ate, like one quarter of an apple for breakfast or three saltines for lunch, and works out day and night at the gym which is opened for 24 hours. But my mother would not listen. Whitney told her she was tired, and the market was competitive, and mother just let it be. She has huge expectations for Whitney and wants her to succeed by all means. What should I do?

  1. Mmm.. I think this isn't the right place for it. Sometimes I post in the wrong sections.

  2. Annabel, is that you? Well, sometimes it can be easier if you talk about how you feel, tell all your worries about your sisters to a friend. Maybe Sophie? Or is she still not talking to you? Or Owen?

  3. I am sorry to hear that.I

am unsure as to why you have posted in books and would suggest re-posting in a health section.

There are great support groups out there for both people with an eating disorder and family members.

I would also suggest contacting your local doctor or psychiatrist to learn more.

  4. Post this question in "health" or "mental disorders" instead.

  5. She is anorexic and in a couple of months she is going to have to be fed through a tube. Research about this disease and then show your mom the results. If she doesn't listen, tell another family member that cares about Whitney. If htey don't listen, go to the hospital where she lives and inform them about her. Do what ever you can. goos luck

  6. Hmm. Sounds Familiar, Annabel.

    Lol
