  1. if she is going to use a dandruff shampoo she should make sure that it is in fact dandruff

flaking of the scalp in most cases is just dry skin

and if you use a dandruff shampoo she will only make it worse by drying out the skin more

dandruff look almost like cradle cap

    it is a fungus

if there is not thick skin patches

using a good conditioner will help and you can add

a few drops of essential to it as well.

you can add eucalyptus essential oil and rosemary essential oil to the shampoo are using these oils will remove existing flakes and help purify your scalp.

if you do think that it is dandruff she can try the following

    treatment for dandruff

    1 cup dried chamomile flowers

1 cup dried burdock root chopped

1 cup dried rose petals ( because you need old flowers some flower shops will sell at a discount)

2 qts (approx 2 liters) apple cider vinegar

    1) add all dry ingred to a tall wide mouth 2 qt jar

    with a s***w top

cover them completely with vinegar until herbs are well  covered

    2) place a piece of plastic wrap over its mouth to prevent rust from forming put lid on steep in sunny area for 2 to 3 weeks

    3) stain well and wring herbs out by filtering the vinegar through a piece of gauze or cheese cloth pour into bottle

    4) massage 2 to 4 tbls of the vinegar diluted with an equal amount of water into scalp cover hair with shower cap up to 30 min rinse thoroughly.

DO NOT USE MORE THAN THREE TIMES WEEKLY

  2. Yes she can get rid of it. dandruff is a nasty fungal infection which is commonly found in all parts of the world. Before I go on I must tell you "never rub a shampoo on your scalp!" If the dandruff is severe you must ask accompanied by scaling of the scalp skin or severe itching with complications like blood coming out due to scratching or the like, the best thing is to see a skin doctor. But if it is just dandruff and naturally dryness and itching, I would say you may try using according to the severity of the dandruff firstly Selsun Blue which contains selenium sulfide and is highly effective in treating some bad dandruff infections. This is a shampoo which really does wonders. Then there are tar based anti-dandruff shampoos which are equally good.  Even head and shoulders is a proven and safe anti-dandruff shampoo. You have to use them as directed and some of them will tell you to leave the shampoo on your head for about one minute and then rinse it out.  Depending on the intensity of the infection, usually one can see positive results within the first two uses. As I said every dandruff shampoo has different medicines involved and following directions is a must. Apple cider vinegar treatment is also a good one for dandruff, but it can sometimes back fire. If it is used less diluted or just plain it can cause severe flaking and itching and other complications.  Dandruff is like Eczema and may recur .  The best thing is once taken care of a good brand like Head and Shoulders used once a week or even twice a week will do wonders.  If the climate in your part is dry I would suggest you oil your hair just reasonably enough to keep it moist-- not too much, not too little. This will help a lot. A good multi-vitamin with minerals formula which contains calcium, zinc, iodine, magnesium and other vital minerals required for healthy hair growth accompanied by Calcium with Vit.D -- 600 mg of calcium tablets one in morning and one with lunch (of course no vitamins, minerals, etc. are to be taken on an empty stomach. B-Complex with Vit. C 500 mg. also taken similarly will help a lot. These are metabolic vitamins. So the dandruff will just run away from your sister-in-law's head and I wish you all the best. Thanks. Oh yes. Do not rub any shampoo on the head. Just take out some on your hand , and keep working lightly with your fingers until lather is formed and all your head has shampoo. Do it very lightly. Thanks.

  3. go to www.thebestnaturalcures.com see what they say.

  4. Use Apple Cider Vinegar as a final rinse, after shampooing and conditioning.  Then, rinse a couple more times with clear water.  Yes, she will smell like a salad for a couple of hours so she needs to do this at nighttime.

In the meanwhile, she needs to get on a very good women's supplement, very high potency.  Skip walmart and other major chains like that and go for something at the health food store or GNC instead.

  5. Use an antidandruff shampoo. A variety of shampoos are available, containing different ingredients. Trying several will help you find out which antidandruff shampoo is most effective for you.

Shampoo daily to prevent a build up of dead skin cells on your scalp.

If an antidandruff shampoo helps stop dandruff for a while but the dandruff problem returns, try a different antidandruff shampoo.

Alternate antidandruff shampoos with regular ones if you are worried about the effects of antidandruff shampoos' harsh chemicals on your hair.

Rub your scalp. When you wash your hair, lather once, rinse, then lather a second time and rub your scalp vigorously as you shampoo. This will help dislodge excess cells. Be careful not to rub so energetically that you damage your scalp.

Let it soak. After you lather the second time, let the medicated shampoo sit on your head for 5 minutes. This will give the antidandruff shampoo time to work.

Rinse well. This will help get rid of all the cells you have loosened up during shampooing.
