I have a younger sister who is 20 years old. She used to work at a place called Money Mart and she was there for about 2-3 years, doing well, or so I thought..now, she has a history of stealing, I can remember many times I been stolen from and now what she did is steal at her job..they found it to be the shifts that she was working where 100's of dollars at times went missing..she has been to court, maybe 1 or 2 times and her next court date is February of 2009. She plans on going the the states to go to school to become a nurse and work there, but Im not so sure she is able to do that given her criminal history, she can't get alot of jobs here in Canada due to what shes done at her last job..can someone tell me how far she can get into living in the States, would they even allow her to be there for 4 months which is what she plans on doing now? Would they really let her get a job in the states?? What do you guys think??

  1. Tell your sister that she can't muddy the well there and expect to move on to a new well.

She will not be able to emigrate if she has a criminal record... they will check.  Any employer in the US will also check her background and run a criminal history, and most will run a credit check as well.

Your sister needs to get real and get some treatment... it sounds like she has a serious psychological disorder.

  2. Many applications ask if you have ever been convicted of a crime!  If you lie and say no, then they check it would be bad.

I don't know if it would effect schooling here or not.

  3. Many of those who are Jehovah’s Witnesses today were once a part of Satan’s dishonest world. On getting an accurate knowledge of what God requires of Christians, they changed, clothing themselves with the new personality. The following experiences illustrate how such changes can be made.

    □ A confirmed thief in Spain with kleptomaniac tendencies started studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. His home was full of stolen goods. As he continued to progress in accurate knowledge of Bible principles, his conscience began to bother him and he made the decision to return the things he had stolen to the owners.

Now he has a clean conscience before Jehovah. In harmony with Ephesians 4:28, “Let the stealer steal no more,” and appreciating that thieves will not “inherit God’s kingdom,” he has stopped stealing and has put on “the new personality.”—1 Corinthians 6:9, 10.

  4. She won't be able to hold down a job - especially if there's tempation in stealing items she wants...she needs help obviously...
