Im looking to throw a baby shower for her as she has no supplies for the preemie. Have looked into throwing an "adoption" shower but the adoption could take up to a year.

  1. I personally would wait until you have a definite date of when she may get the child, but go ahead and plan for a theme, guest, where it will be what time of the day and what will be served, games that maybe planned that sort of thing... I would have it ready but wouldn't send invitations out until 2 months before maybe even 3 just because some people do need time to prepare for the cost.. Hope I helped and GOOD LUCK ENJOY THE NEW LIL ONE!

  2. Do it just like you would for any other shower.....I would try to throw it BEFORE the baby comes home so she won't be worried about the premie being around a lot of people and their germs!!

Pick a theme....perhaps coordinate it with the bedding set she has picked out!

Register for her or encourage her to register.

Pick a date and then send out invites at least 2-3 weeks before the shindig!!

Enforce RSVP.....makes food planning and activities better if you know how many to expect!!

Just treat it like any other baby shower....because this baby WILL be a part of your family and a part of the family of friends.

    Have fun.....CELEBRATE BABY!!

  3. I was a foster parent to a new born and I know how hard it is to get everything for the baby all of a sudden.  The agency only provides minimal needs.  I think that it is great that you want to help your sis and I think her friend and family will also.  Give the "baby" a shower.  Promote it as a shower for the baby. Go for it.  God bless you!

  4. Does your sister already have the baby at home?

Maybe you could throw an "Introducing Baby" celebration.  The baby is becoming part of her family now, even if the adoption won't be official for a year.

Send out announcements/invitations and gather everyone together for a party to  celebrate this miracle of a baby.

    Congratulations, Auntie!  Enjoy that baby!

  5. It could but still if she get the baby she still can have one. But like u said it could take about 1 4 it.
