my sister is under some impression that the queen uses escalators to get to the upper levels of Buckingham palace? i say there are stairs but she thinks not

  1. I thought she had peasants under her skirts carry her everywhere.


  2. There aren't any escalators in the palace. People and things can go up using the stairs, the regular elevators, or the freight elevators (also known as lazy butler).

  3. There are no escalator's in Buckingham Palace. The Queen uses the stairs or an Elevator.

There are most definitely no escalators in Buckingham Palace.  Her Majesty is quite capable of using stairs, though as stated in an earlier answer, there is also a lift...this is generally used by people in wheelchairs who have occasion to visit the Palace.  There is a short description of the inside of Buck House at this site...

  5. I do not know of any escalators that have been installed at Buckingham Palace.  But the palace does have Otis elevators.

  6. Perhaps your sister is confusing the term escalator for elevator.  In any case, confusion or being incorrect is not madness.
