Wow what a crazy thing to happen my sister is pregnant and I am not yet but trying. ( which i know is a big deal sense im not ) Well when I told her I liked the Name Rocco Jonathon she totally lit up and said that it that's the name !! So now her and her husband have already put the name on the baby showe invitations Rocco Marco Is the name . I'm pissed Can I say anything ?

so now I need a new first name to go with the middle name JONATHAN

any suggestions: REALLY UNIQUE NAMES WOULD BE GREAT !!

The name isn't yours, you don't own it. If she wants to use it, she can. She has just as much right to it as you do. Next time, I suggest not sharing your baby names.

I'm with ArmyBride....you could totally start rhyming the name with everything imaginable. Create the nickname, Rocco Taco or something and start calling the baby that. She'll get mad and you can tell her how you really feel.

We are trying to concieve and my sister keeps telling me names she likes and it confused me because I'm not sure if she is suggesting them or if she wants to use them.  We liked Logan a lot and were pretty set on the name but then she mentioned she wants to use it so we came up with others, Liam, Elijah, Roman are a few we have came up with.  And honestly now I don't even like the name Logan.  Also a few years ago  I LOVED the name Makenna.  My brother named his daughter that name after I had mentioned it and I was a little upset but now I can't imagine my neice with any other name and I no longer love the name.  My taste changes all the time so hopefully the same will happen with you.  Does she realize Rocco Marco sounds silly?  maybe she will and then you can still use it.

See... this is exactly why I never tell people the names I like. That is not right of her to do that, knowing that you're trying for a baby and chose the name first. But, I wouldn't tell her that you're pissed. Instead, make it known that YOU are the one that chose her boy's name.

I totally had this same problem but with my Sister In Law...Not first name but middle name, that she used as a first name for her daughter.  I really like the name Copen for a boy or Briar...Not real original but both would sound great with your middle name...

That really sucks that she took your name like that.  My sister in-law did the same thing to me and I was pretty mad.  But, I decided to use the name I wanted anyways, but as a middle name instead (John).  One name that I think is really trendy and adorable at the same time is:

Wow, how inconsiderate of her... not to mention rude. You could say something to her, but I doubt it would change her mind seeing as how she didn't regard your feelings in the first place. If I recall correctly, Madonna has a son named Rocco John. So perhaps it's a good thing that your sister stole it, that way your future son will have a more unique name. That said, Luca is another nice Italian name that isn't terribly popular. I like the sound of Luca Johnathan.

I would be mad too if I were you.  The same thing happened with me and my sister.  She stole my name.  But that's okay.  When she had another girl and asked me what I would name a girl when I had one I told her to name her child Anarchy, or Ann for short.  She hated it and won't steal mine any more.

I like weird names now like Chaos.  Mayhem. Chrysanthemum. But those r names for my girls. (if I ever have one).  I have been stuck on comeing up with boy names.
