I don't know what to do about this, but that's her reason to take spanish for school.

The other one is that she should take French because that's our family's precedent...

Should I be okay with her taking spanish?

  1. maybe she will learn both

  2. Spanish will prove to be more useful.  And you should let her make her own choices, right?

That she's taking it to be with her friends shouldn't be a problem unless they keep each other from learning.  In fact, being with friends in class is a good way to have fun while you learn, which can help you learn more effectively.

  3. Maybe I'm not understanding the question but what is wrong with taking Spanish??  I think it's wonderful, for whatever reason, that she is learning another language!  If she also takes French, she'll be that much better off...lots of added career opportunities!

I think you should DEFINATELY be ok with her taking Spanish!

  4. Sure. Spanish will probably be more useful in everyday life anyways.
