  1. http://www.salonaustin.com/locksoflove.h...

  2. You can actually have your hair cut anywhere.  There is a website for locks of love.  You can get all the info. you need to send in your hair.  I just sent mine in last week.  They need it put into a ponytail or braid before it is cut (no loose hair).  They need at least 10".  Then you just put it in a plastic bag, place it in a padded envelope and mail it to them.  All you need to know is on their website.

  3. Find the nearest hair styleing college they will know or call a hospital and as radiology

  4. One place to donate to Locks of Love in Austin is Aveda Beauth Salon To participate  call (512) 502-8268 (northwest) or (512) 472-6357 (downtown)

    Another is Salon Austin (512) 832-6721 | 2105 Justin Lane, Suite 109 | Austin, Texas 78757

You can probably find more at http://www.altavista.com/web/adv  by entering locks of love and Austin

Here are the basic rules for Locks of Lovw

Hair that is colored or permed is acceptable.

Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail or braid.

Hair that has been bleached is not usable.  If unsure, ask your stylist.

Hair that is swept off of the floor is not usable.

Hair that is shaved off and not in a ponytail or braid is not usable.

    We cannot accept dreadlocks.

We also cannot accept wigs, falls, hair extensions or synthetic hair.

Layered hair is acceptable if the longest layer is 10 inches.

Layered hair may be divided into multiple ponytails.

10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.

Gray hair will be accepted and sold to offset the manufacturing costs.

Curly hair may be pulled straight to measure the minimum 10 inches.

  5. You can get it cut anywhere and just mail it in.  Some places though will offer a free haircut if you donate.  I know Great Clips offers the free haircut, and will send it off for you, but I don't know if there is a location in Texas.
