Her supervisor tells how many hours are on her paycheck, whether she has overtime or not, and details on when she comes in. He told everyone about her raise. He doesn't go into details like the AMOUNT of her raise or the amount of her paycheck. Is this legal? Is there anything she can do? Her big boss told her that as long as the amount was not given that there was nothing he could do.

  1. not cool -- but not illegal

  2. not a very good supervisor - and even a worse big boss -

if its a small company - private  - there is probably nothing she can do - EEO stands for Equal Employment Opportunity and unless she's being discriminated against there's not much value to it

if, however, its a large public company she should go to her HR representative and post a complaint - the problem she's going to face is proof - unless her co-workers are willing to come forward and verify her story its going to be tough going and her word against his

  3. this has to be illegal....and why is the supervisor looking at her check anyway that is invading her privacy

  4. Wrong answer.  Have her file an EEO complaint.  They are violating her privacy.

  5. As long as he doent not desclose her SSN not much.

Id say he wants her, and for her to call sexual harrasment

That will slam on his brakes

  6. Usually, it's in the company's best interest to keep issues like that hush-hush.  Unless there's been a company policy violated, I think it's legal; not too cool, but legal.
