  1. they only need passport if leaveing country

  2. YES, they need a passport.

New York is an other country.  They speak english with a funny accent, all you see there is yellow cars (taxis). Ther is nothing American there:

Pizzas, French food, East European Food, etc...

They definitively need a passport and a visa too.

  3. a passport from NC to NY? eh. no...passports are used to fly between countries..not states

  4. Would that be North Caroline to New York? If so, that's all within the USA ... you only need a passport to travel outside the country.

They will need some form of ID, though. Do they have id's for school? Also you folks might want to take their birth certificates along (or certified copies).

Don't forget, your folks will need a formal type of id: driver's licence, or something issued by a branch of government, preferably that has a photo on it.

  5. Passport? No - passports are only required for traveling in and out of a country.

It would be a good idea to have a copy of your 10-year-old sister's birth certificate on hand, just in case. If your 16-year-old sister has her driver's permit or license, she can use that. Same with your parents.
