Question:

My six year old daughter can't control her bladder?

My daughter is nearly seven but still can't control her bladder very well during the day and always wets the bed at night. She goes to the toilet before leaving for school but can barely contain herself until she gets there (a mile's walk away). Her teacher also isn't very sympathetic about letting her go during class. I've been told by the doctor that they won't do anything to investigate until she is seven. Now she thinks that it will magically get better on her birthday.

  1. "Now she thinks that it will magically get better on her birthday." sometimes it sort of happens that way.  Your child obviously has a small possibly underdeveloped bladder, not all body parts on a child grow at the same time.  I suggest instead of going to the teacher you might contact the school nurse and let her in on the problem.  She might be more receptive to your child's problem than a teacher.  The teacher is there to teach your children acedemically and not to deal with any medical issues they may have.  Your daughter's bladder just needs time to devlop further and could very well be okay by the time she reaches seven.  If not, take her back to the doctor there could be other reasons for your child's problem.

  3. I'm facing a similar prob with my +6yr old but only at night. Found these home remedies on the net which you might like to try...lets see if it works. Good Luck!

    1. Give your child one tablespoon of orange blossom honey every night before they go to bed. after a while they will stop wetting the bed.

    2. Have the child eat two walnut halves and a teaspoon of raisins before bed.

  4. try using "pull-ups" nappies/ underwear for kids like your daughter. Its normal for kids in that age zone sometimes. So dont worry much. Some children still wet themselfs because of stress of some kind, just make sure everythings ok with her.

    hope i helped =]

  5. I don't know what doctor told you that there is nothing that can be checked until the child is seven!!! But if you go to a urologist specialist I bet they would check this child through

a scan to see if there is something out of order!! Meanwhile I would put some small adult diapers on her to help keep her

dry!! Pursue the medical specialist even if you have to go out

    of town !!!!
