Question:

My skateboard tends to go right...is this normal?

Hey, I just bought a used complete on ebay and it came practically new (maybe two scratches on the bottom of the deck).

When I roll it by itself and I am not riding, it tends to go right and if I reverse the direction, it goes left.

When I am riding it, it is harder to turn left than it is to turn right...

Is there any way to fix this?

  1. yeah you can loosen your trucks and/or just wait for the bushings to break in if they are brand new, just keeping jumping on the left side if it keep turning right, and right side if it turns left.

  2. its the trucks

one of them or maybe both might be tilted

i'd say loosen them up first and see if it works

    if not

    try tightening them

  3. Like eveyone else said, Your bushings haven't broke in yet. You need to losen the trucks up.

  4. oh no worries man..this is a really common problem. all it is is that your wheels are offset a bit. this can be very easily adjusted by simply tightening them or replacing them.

congrats on the new board. good luck : )

could you give me a few tips...? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  5. The trucks are too tight.  Loosen the kingpin nut until it rides the way you want it.

  6. simply loosening the trucks or continue to break in the bushings may solve the problem, but this could mean that there is something wrong somewhere and you should check a few thing out first.

first  unscrew the kingpin completly and take off the hanger or the truck so that the baseplate is left on the board, on the front have of the baseplate theres a small hole with a rubber thing lineing it, if this is loose, tore, damaged in anyway on either truck it will cause the board to turn one way or the other and will continue to get worse, u can buy replacment pivot cups for 2$

another thing that could cause this to happen is the deck may have warped, if it was a cheaper deck it could have warped without even getting wet, but just from moisture in the air or dew in the morning. this can be difficult to tell wether this has happend or not, ull need to take the deck off and put it on a flat surface lay down next to it so ur eyes or level with the deck and make sure one side isnt any higher than the other.

of course it could just be the bushings are new, to break them in faster u can tighten the kingpin or u can loosen it and it will take longer for them to break in but in the mean time it will work better since they have more room.

o another thing although these arent as likly to happen with a new board, the axles may have gotten bent or the bushings maybe damaged some how.
