My sleeping pill (restoril) expired exactly a year ago will they still work?

  1. How did you store them? If they were stored out of room temperature or were stored around moisture (bathroom), then they will degrade faster. If they are stored in perfect conditions (between 68-75 degrees, out of light and in a dry place) they are good for upwards of 3-4 years at a minimum.

    Never a good idea to take extra...thats a recipe for overdosage / toxicity.


  2. They should still work but do not take more than the recommended dosage. Most meds have a shelf life of a year but will usually work a little longer than a year. Do Not increase the dosage, I'd bet they will still work for you, that's what they taught us in med school. They may not work as quickly but they will still work.

  4. If they Were Kept Dry and In Dark, Cool Place, they Should Be OK, don't Exceed the Recommend Dose.
