When we moved into our house 2 years our landlord installed 2 Ionisation Smoke Alarms, They are powered by the main electric in the house. because they are really sensitive they go off all the time when im cooking. But now one of them beeps randomly through the day. It goes off with a really loud short sharp beep! and i cant get it to stop. I ve checked the website for help but there isnt any. Also the customer services arent open till monday. I have to get it to stop beacuse my dog is TERIFIED of it, and i dont want him to have a heartattack !!!!! please help !!

  1. Its best to use alkaline batteries in your smoke alam detectors, its better not to use rechargeable or cheap batteries. Make sure that your fire alarm is not expired. Always make sure that your smoke detector is clean. Get the manual, its the best source to find all the remidies for your ailing smoke detector.

  2. does the beeping  every few hours mean batteries are weak?

  4. I have a nortron model AC8W about 20 years old now. It started to beep  lightly about every 10 seconds..It is "house wired" and has no battery, and is connected to the second floor alarm as well...I diconnected it from the 120 volt system..black fron black, white from white neutral, and the yellow lead from the red (which connects the two units)..I forced open the cover on the workbench which broke off the plastic anchor pins..then I used compressed air to blow out the dust accumulation, then applied plastic adhesive to the ends of the pins and reassembled it.It is now back on line, with no problems......
