One of my ball pythons eyes seems to be dented as if the roundest point is flat and he seems alot more skiddish and less adventures as of late and this dent is only recent....what could it be? did he just not shed his eye caps? or did he get injured?

  1. Sounds like retained eye caps & some dehydration.  You need to provide some humidity for him with a humidity box or by regularly misting.  Take care of those retained eye caps, too, because ignoring it could cause your buddy lots of discomfort and possibly infection/blindness.

    Good luck!

  2. the dents or cracks are caused from not having enough moisture in the tank. spray the tank once a day with some water. spray it under the heat lamp so it evaporates. dont worry, dents are common. 2 of my ball pythons have dents now. they are too skittish and sluggish.

    hope this helps

  3. Your snake due to lack of humidity or dehydration did not shed its eye caps, to help him out  can get a bucket he cant get out of fill up only enough to let  him soak, use dechlorinated water or tap with repti-safe as well as using shed aid in the water allowing him to soak for about  5 minutes { make sure water isnt too hot nor let him sit in cold water} he is and will be stressed out until they come off watch your hands you might get tagged, this should be repeated every other day or 2 until they come off on their own.
