Every time he starts shedding he never sheds in one piece, it usually comes off in lumps...

I spray down his tank about twice a day with a bottle of water...I hear keeping the humidity up helps the shedding...

  1. Since your snake is having a bad shed take a plastic box, large enough for your snake to fit in it comfortably.  Get the short boxes for soaking snakes…the box should be about the height to go under a bed.  Drill several small holes along the sides at the top for airflow (this box can also be used as a feeding tub for your snake).  Put about a half inch or an inch of lukewarm water (about 80 Fahrenheit) and put the top on the plastic tub and “soak” the snake for about 3 hours (changing the water every so often if needed).  The reason to do this in a plastic tub with only a half inch or inch of water is because it's the humidity that this creates that helps the skin loosen and come off easier for your snake.

    Good luck.

  2. Well have you tried soaking him in a tub full with warm water for about an hour?

That's what I do to my snakes and they all shed whole.

It takes a little work but if you want it to shed whole then it is worth it.

Hope this help a little bit.

  3. yes

  4. Lovie and Princess Liea both have great answers. The shedding must happen naturally, so whatever you do, don't pull the skin off yourself. Tub soaking or the wet newspapers will work and the best part is, the snake will be doing his shedding naturally.

  5. When he starts to shed (you have to catch him right when he starts), get a rubbermaid container large enough for him to fit comfortably in and make sure there are plenty of air holes in the lid. Fill it with crumpled very wet newspaper, then put the snake in there. ...Give it about 15-20 minutes for him to crawl around in there & the skin should be shed in one piece.

  6. humnidity helps. wen you notice his eyes cloud up soak him in a warm bath liek that day or the day after. its usually within 3 days of that happening that they will shed. but its all about the humidity.

  7. Humidity defiantly helps this. Do you use an under tank heater?
