  1. Hi:

I am a landscaper and designer. I am not sure what climate you live in. Many places are in a drought and very warm.

With any new sod, you have to get a good and consistant watering schedule. There is the above sprinkler system and irrigation. If you have irrigation, you should be watering every other day, with each zone set for two cycles, at thirty minutes each. The watering should be done first thing in the morning, around six or so.

If you have an above ground sprinkler systems, you still should be watering every other day for the first few weeks, at forty five minutes to an hour on all areas of your lawn. Your goal is to keep the root systems developing, with good moisture. Don't over water as you will saturate the roots and they will not grow properly.

Sod root systems take awhile to get established. I am not sure if you have a warm weather turf grass or cool weather. I will link you to the outdoor features section of my website. There is a page on sod versus seed and one of warm climate turf grasses. Both of these pages may give you additional information. Good luck with your new sod and have a great day!

  2. You probably aren't watering it enough.

  3. It's stressed. Water it every day.
