All that is left is a consent form, which includes the medical stuff, which is fine, but on this form also includes a paragraph saying i accept the school's offer to take my child.........this bit is fine, but then it goes on to say i agree to reimburse any member of staff for any costs and expenses reasonably incurred and/or other sums reasonably disbursed by her/him on behalf of the above pupil during or as a result of the trip. This seems ambigious, i think i could end up paying for anything. It doesn't state what expenses i could expect. This is not right i think for me toi sign for. I'll be giving him spending money as per how much he can take. It's a three day trip for which i've already paid.

  1. You are gagging at a gnat. What this means is if your son loses his jacket and somebody has to buy him one, for example, you'll pay them back.  It would be impossible to list the unknown. Stuff happens. A kind teacher shouldn't be punished for helping when it does.  Millions of parents have signed the same or similar forms. Don't worry about it.

A much bigger problem, one that happens, is that there is very little chance someone will lend him money if he loses his spending money.   He needs to understand this and watch his money.  And if you haven't already, please explain what that means. I've gone along on a lot of school trips. There are always a few who lose their cash and are crushed that more isn't handed to them.

  2. I kinda know what your going through, you just need to think really hard. Why not just cancel the trip?

  3. he maybe in trouble

  4. I would sign the form. Just did for my son to go on his trip. They are not out to break you as far as financially. They mean as far as like a call to 911 for them to come take him or to the hospital.

  5. It was written by a Lawyer, I think you call them Barristers in the U.K., to protect your son's school form anything and everything.  Their is a 99.9% chance nothing is going to happen to your son on his school trip.  If something does happen, than go get a Lawyer.  So go ahead and sign the consent form, your son will be very happy, and most likely have a wonderful trip!

Please let us know what you did, and if your son went on the school trip.  Thanks.
