He called and gave his address when he arrived. He is in Basic training at Lackand, AFB. The first time we received anything from him after the call was the Graduation information a week later. Why is the address they show for him different that the one he gave me? I called the reception center and they confirmed the mailing was actually the correct address. Street address zip code and unit # are different. Will he get all the letters I sent to him with the wrong address all week long? Does this mean he was set back and put into a different unit? How long for him to get our mail and how often will it be passed out? Is it true they have to do 20 push ups for every letter they get?

  1. maybe a diffrent unit or the base is like a effin city he might have gotten changed or something or it might be from his drill seargent

  2. his address is directly to the barracks that he lives in. You have to think of a military base much like a whole city in itself...so each building is it's own address.

No, he wil not get punished for letters that go to the wrong place...but if you were to send him unauthorized items he may...

I (we) was never allowed to sleep during breaks

  3. Nobody gets punished for letters received. Letters could be slow getting to him the first few weeks if he got changed to another unit. Reasons could be anything from too many guys in one unit to they were grouping them according to what schools they will be taking so they can build a camaraderie with each other. He wont' have time to send letters he is trying to learn a lot of stuff fast that is why its only 8-9 weeks long.  When he goes to school he will be able to write letters during breaks not many breaks in boot camp and they are usually too tired to do anything but sleep.
