My son came home from rehab?

my son came home from rehab he lives by his self i was with him friday. i left messages for him to phone me. he said friday he was going to hang with friends and girlfriend this weekend but should i still be worried tell me what to do thanks

He has been given the opportunity to learn tools and strategies to help himself.  Now it is up to him to apply them.  You can not do it for him.

You need to recognize that what he does is not under your control.  You are no longer responsible for his behavior,and can not save him from himself.  Those are the cold, hard facts, even though they can run completely counter to what being a parent has meant to you.  Unfortunately, that makes this situation very frustrating, scary, and complicated to be sure.

What you can do is learn ways to cope with your very stressful situation.  There are people who have been right where you are, and they are the ones who can best help YOU deal with this unfortunate circumstance you find yourself in.  I don't know what type of addiction your son has, or where you are located, so I have included several links below to international support group networks that I hope you can find useful.  Support groups are free, anonymous, and located all over the country.  It is so helpful to hear from those who have been through what you are going through.  These people can tell you what works, and what is likely to make things worse.

He's just going out, but you do need to see him in person rregularly once or twice a week would be good just to make sure he doesn't have any relapses.
