  1. My babies didnt like the cereals either, so I put a little bit of fruit (babyfood) in it.  Have u tried that? Hope it works for ya.. sounds like you are doing fine with him.  I would double check with his pediatrician to be certain, they all say different things.. Good luck.

  2. Both of my boys did like rice cereal when they were babies. They like oatmeal cereal better. Try him on that he would probably like it better and you can start him on fruit and veggies has well.

  3. Everyone I know myself included just added some fruit to the cereal.

    Baby's love it. :)

  4. Start adding fruits to the rice cereal and see if that works.

  5. dump the rice cereal and go to fruits and veggies.  there is no need for rice cereal. my son started on fruits and veggies at 5 months and loved them.

(i started with fruit in the AM and veggies in the PM right off the bat (just a little of each so he could taste them) and he loved them both.

  6. Hello.Yes,he seems ready to try new foods so try oatmeal and after a few days introduce other foods if he seems ok.

  7. How old is he?  If he's over 6 months then go ahead and start veggies.  You could even mix a veggie with the rice cereal.

  8. Don't dump the baby rice just yet, but put in aside for now. I'd definitely try the fruits & veggies, perhaps your baby just doesn't like the taste of bland baby rice. But when your baby gets a taste for fruit & veg, mix the baby rice in with it, to bulk it out and fill him up.

  9. Yes, try giving him oatmeal cereal. Rice cereal can make him constipated anyway. How old is he? If he's 6 months or older then maybe you could try giving him a veggie. Wait a little while longer on the fruit, though, because it has a strong taste and most babies reject it if they aren't used to eating other foods first.

  10. You may go to oatmeal and then start the veggies, then fruit and then meat , You only need to be on each new food like for 5 days. Unless they will not eat it like my grandbaby and green beans LOL

  11. Neither one of my kids ever liked the cereal, so i skipped it.  Once your baby can do finger foods, try cheerios - they are just as healthy and kids love them  :)

  12. that is fine, as he eats those cereals you called the dump things, he will no longer like them anymore. Why, because he will feel very depress of it and eat the rice cereal again.Sometime change is better.

  13. if he doesn't like it, don't give it to him!  He is old enough that he can be eating solid foods that he self feeds himself.  Google baby led weaning (BLW) for more info.

Go ahead and give oatmeal.  There is no reason to give the baby oatmeal though.  It is healthier and tastes better to give regular oatmeal.  You can grind the oats up in a food processor to make them finer if he doesn't like the lumps.

Let him take bites and experiment with what you are eating.

  14. That's OK.  Rice cereal isn't required.

I think how to proceed depends on how old he is.  If he's under 6 months I would just wait before giving him anything.  If he's over 6 months (and grabbing it off your plate) I would just puree whatever veggies you're having for dinner and serve him that. Introduce one new food at a time, of course, and steer clear of known allergens and choke foods.

    Good luck!

  15. of course you should start the fruits and vegetables.begin with the smashed apple but make it very uniform,so he doesn't choke.smashed potato with a little olive oil and salt would be great.remember,he is a baby person,so he gets bored with the same thing always.
