My son found an ad im Maxim magazine for a free XBox but when I typed in their website, it couldn't be found.

if it sounds too good to be true, it usual is!

Run your virus software and spyware filter. You most likely downloaded spyware software and will be cursed with popup ads.   There is never any such thing as free when the item is something of known value, of course it is a scam!

false advertisment , trust me! think of all the people reading that magazine . would they give out that many 100$ or more for free. no.
