  1. My sister has a mild from of OCD, were she feels she has to always be clicking her fingers, she has the urges under control most of the time.

therapy is good way to start, find out why he has certain com-pulses. try to resolve the problem.

Find activities for him to do as a distraction.

  2. Here are four steps to help him, but as he is seven, I think it would be best to see a mental health expert.

There is a lot of additional information on this site.

Nowadays, there are many treatments that can really help. The younger he starts, the better it will be.

Don't be afraid to go to a doctor/GP ... It is more common than you might think, 3-4 people in 100 have it !

Good luck, I wish both of you the best !

  3. I actually have OCD and it's been bothering me since I was about 8. I'm 15 now and I broke down recently because I couldn't handle it anymore. My Mom is making me start therapy in about a week to help. Try therapy.

Do something now. I wish I got help years ago.

  4. my son has  minor OCD.  it is not as bad as some people out there but it affects his daily life.  if food touches he wont eat it.  if it is a different color he wont eat it.  he wont use the bathroom anywhere but the house.

but he gets great grades because everything has to be perfect.  there is an up side and a down side to OCD.  the trick is to let your son find his own tricks.

  5. I dont have children but I have OCD. Its not soo bad once you get a bit older. I dont have it really bad like I used to but things like doors ajar, people standing when watching tv lol, sounds silly but random things used to get on my nerves but it will be ok. There are people out there tnat can help and if he has you by his side things will be fine.Try to sway him away from things that wind him up if thats the case of set his OCD off. What i did was everytime I felt as if it was coming lol I would do something that I dont usually do which was tap my little finger on my thumb until It wnet away. But i guess everyone is different. Plus as he is younger than me he may react differently. I personally think everyone as a little bit of OCD : ) good luck
