my 11 year old son has a earade what can i do to help him besides going to the doctor

  1. What's an earade?  Is that like gatorade?

Do you mean an earache?  If so, if it is very painful it most likely is an ear infection and will need to be treated with antibiotics.  My kids get them every summer from swimming-it is called swimmers ear and can be caused by water getting trapped in the ear canal causing bacteria to grow.  Ear infections can also be the result of being sick with a cold or virus.  I would suggest you take him to the doctor so that he/she can make the diagnosis.  They will most likely prescribe an antibiotic ear drop plus possibly an oral form of antibiotic.  You can give him Motrin or Tylenol to help ease the pain...hope he gets better soon!
